Having an outdoor fire pit adds a sense of elegance to your home. For most home owners, building a fire pit is an expensive affair. However, you do not have to build a modern fire pit for your home to look stylish. You build a traditional one from locally available materials and this will not cost you much.

When planning to build the fire pit, you will need to identify a suitable place for it. This should be a safe distance from the house or any other buildings. The place should be dry and comfortable as well. Mark the place where you intend to have your fire pit and ensure that there are no plants within this area. Dig a pit that is at least 10 inches deep and cover it with gravel and sand. Line the pit’s sides with rocks that should be placed as close together as possible.
