Refinishing furniture does not necessarily require experts to do. It is a more of ‘Do It Yourself’ project. A person can make their furniture look as good as new and attractive once again. The first thing to do would be to get rid of the old finish but first ensure that it is in form. It should not be broken or damaged. This does not involve a complicated step, simply wash the furniture. Use soap which is disinfectant as this removes the old wax. Light sanding can be done to smooth any rough surfaces.

Depending on the type of wood, some filling may be required like the mahogany for instance. Get the right shade of the grain filler and use it to fill your wood. The next step would be to apply some stain. When doing this, follow the instructions given. Ensure that the best type of stain for the wood is used. Lastly, application of varnish would be necessary for that shinny finish.
