Installing New Carpet

nullThe first thing you need to do is to remove your old carpet and ensure that your floor is dry and clean before installing the new one. This is also a good time to check if there are any loose floorboards. Once this is done, you need to put in some tack-less strips around the room. Do not put the strips in front of the doorway.

Once the strips are in place, lay down the under-pad in the same direction you plan to put the carpet. The under-pad should be stapled to the strips and if there is any excess, trim it off. Use some duct tape to make sure the seams are sealed.

Measure the room and take the new carpet outside so that you can trim it to fit the room. You can then put the new carpet in the room making sure it remains straight at all times. Trim the excess and glue carpet seams.
